Vocational Services

The WAY Program is an approved vendor for the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) services for individuals with disabilities ranging from developmental/intellectual disabilities, mental health, substance abuse, and traumatic brain injury (TBI).  We seek to build the proficiency necessary for community employment through assessment and skills development.

The WAY team conducts an intensive discovery phase with each individual participant including career occupation preference assessments, learning style evaluations and observation through situational assessments. Experienced staff work from the point of intake and through assessment, discovery, job development, and intensive support and follow along to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Educational Supports

The WAY Program provides individualized educational support services to students referred by ACCES-VR or OMH (HCBS/HARP). We help in accessing educational resources such as post-secondary, vocational or high school equivalency programs, as well as support within the educational environment to promote transition and student success.

Supported Employment

Funded through ACCES-VR, OPWDD or OMH (HCBS/HARP), the WAY Program provides vocational specialists who work closely with individuals to identify goals and secure and maintain competitive community employment. Services include work experience, situational assessment, prevocational services, and intensive and ongoing employment supports.

Community Habilitation

Funded through OPWDD, this program supports individuals to be active, participating members of their community.  Using a person-centered approach, this model provides individuals the opportunity to be proficient in essential life skills such as budgeting, laundry, housekeeping, cooking, and others.
